Well so far this week has been anything and everything but uneventful. My life is always wild, but it got a new spin on wild starting Sunday. Bailey & I were in the backyard playing tag late Sunday afternoon, when she what I thought trips and falls in front of me (she now tells me "momma I didn't trip I DOVE". Well I was right on her, about to tag her and well..... I swung out enough to miss her body, but not quite enough time to miss her hand. I ran across her hand and BOOM come crashing down myself. I hurry up off the ground to see about her (crying loudly). At the time I thought I got her arm, but no it was her fingers. They were red so we hurry in and get the ice. They began to swell, but I thought surely they are not broke. We carried on as usual Monday w/ school and work, but I decided since it kept looking worse I would take her to the doctor on Tuesday. She would not let you breath on them more less touch them (they were so swollen and blue I thought they would pop). So I had her an appointment on Tuesday with Dr. E at 9:30. He of course ordered X-rays, then back to his office for the news. She has 2 broken fingers. Well I'm feeling real good by now. Then we're off to Dr. Holland's office, for more wonderful news. Dr. Holland said that her ring finger was crooked and he could straighten it out in the office which would hurt or he could put her under and do it. Well no brainer, no pain please. So Andalusia was full, but he said he would be in Opp on Wed and we could do it over there. So once again no brainer let's get it over with please. So off to Opp to do the pre-op stuff then back to work for 2 hours. By now I'm ready to just sit down and cry, but got to be strong for her.
Wednesday it's off to drop Aiden off at his maw-maw's and be at Mizell by 6:45 a.m. meaning I had to be up by 4 and I did not sleep well. They did her I.V. (which I was not aware of, Dr. Holland said gas), she did great with it, never cried or anything. They took her back, not taking 30 minutes to do and she was back snoozing away with a cast/splint. She woke up and 1st thing out of her mouth "It's not pink". Dr. Holland said he would take it off and put a pink one on at his office for her appt. Thursday. She is doing great, back to school today, and excited about her cast. She has told me before she wished she could have a cast. I told her I wouldn't play with her again LOL!!! We have just signed up for softball again and started practicing for that, but that's on hold for 4-6 weeks.
Sorry for such a long story. Here is a few pictures of my princess in a cast.
